Hey developers! 👋 Like many freelancers and independent consultants, I got tired of bloated financial tools that: Hide basic math behind email sign-up forms. Bombard you with tracking cookies and third-party scripts. Overcomplicate pricing formulas. So I decided to build WorkCalc — a fast, private, and 100% client-side financial calculator suite. 🧮 What's inside: Hourly Rate Calculator: Factors in business overhead, vacation weeks, taxes, and most importantly — unbillable admin time (realistic billable capacity). Project Pricing Calculator: Converts raw delivery hours into fixed quotes with contingency buffers for revision creep and payment platform fees. Profit Margin & Markup: Compares Gross Margin, Net Margin, and cost Markup side-by-side to avoid cash-flow traps. Break-Even Point: Classical CVP analysis calculating unit contribution margin and safety cushion. Sales Commission Calculator: Handles variable rates, flat processing cuts, and multi-partner splits. 🛠️ The Tech Stack (Zero Bloat) I intentionally challenged myself to avoid frameworks: HTML5: Semantic, accessible markup. CSS3: Responsive, mobile-first design system with CSS custom properties. Vanilla JavaScript: Pure mathematical functions, defensive parsing (no NaN or Infinity), and reactive client-side recalculation. Hosting: Free GitHub Pages. No backend, no database, no external dependencies. All calculations run strictly in the user's browser memory. 🔗 Check it out: Live Demo: https://yujisz.github.io/workcalc/ GitHub Repo: https://github.com/YujiSz/workcalc I would love to get your feedback on the UX and calculation logic. What other financial tools should I add next?
